Panel-mount controllers

As an alternative to wall-mounted controllers, panel-mount controllers are designed for installation in the electrical panel of the plant: DIN Digital on DIN rail and JA for 96×96 flush mounting. They control dosing pumps, including existing ones, and solenoid valves according to the set points.

  • DIN rail or 96×96 flush mounting
  • pH, Redox, conductivity, chlorine, chlorine dioxide, ozone
  • Volt-free contact and 0-4/20 mA outputs
  • 12 / 24 VDC power supply also available

DIN Digital

For pH, Redox, conductivity, free chlorine, chlorine dioxide, ozone and temperature. Two ON/OFF or proportional digital outputs (for example acid and base, or the same chemical at two injection points) and one 0-4/20 mA output.

JA

For pH, conductivity (0 – 300 mS), free chlorine, chlorine dioxide and ozone. Two ON/OFF or proportional digital outputs, one proportional pump output, one 0-4/20 mA output and a Modbus port for the PLC network; measuring channel plus temperature channel.

Control

Digital logic and control modes

The alphanumeric display shows the measured value, the set points and the proportional band. ABS housing, IP40 protection (IP54 on request on the JA).

Proportional over 100 seconds

The output remains active for a fraction of the 100-second period proportional to the deviation from the set point: for example, at pH 7.30 it remains active for 30 seconds and inactive for 70. ON/OFF control is available as an alternative.

Proportional (JA only)

As in the LD controllers, the proportional pump output varies the injection frequency in proportion to the deviation from the set point, stopping the pump when the set value is reached.

Proportional 4/20 mA

The current output drives the pump directly over the proportional band: 4 mA at SET POINT ON (maximum strokes) and 20 mA at SET POINT OFF (pump stopped), for example 4 mA at pH 8 and 20 mA at pH 7 with acid dosing, or 4 mA at 600 mV and 20 mA at 650 mV for Redox.

Existing pumps and solenoid valves

The volt-free contact outputs control pumps already installed and solenoid valves that shut off the water inlet or outlet when the set points are reached.

Probes

Measurable parameters and probes

Panel-mount controllers connect to the same probes as the LD controllers; the data sheets are further down.

Operation

Measuring principle of the closed cell

The cell consists of an electronic section and a galvanic section.

Insight: Redox, open cell and closed cell →
1

Selective membrane

The measuring electrodes are protected from direct contact with the water by a semi-permeable membrane: only the specific oxidant is measured, without interference from other substances that could alter the measurement.

2

Galvanic measurement

The electrodes of the galvanic section detect the electric current generated by the dissociation of the oxidant.

3

Compensation and signal

The cell electronics compensate the reading for temperature (and, where applicable, pH) and send the signal to the controller, which shows the concentration in mg/l on the display.

VMS MF multifunction dosing pump

Dosing pump

Flow rate and back-pressure defined at the time of order, wetted parts in PVDF, PP, PVC or stainless steel; the strokes are programmable from the controller display. Supplied with a pre-calibrated injection valve and a magnetic level probe with foot suction pipe, which stops the pump when the chemical runs out.

Dosing pumps →
Flow sensor on the pump delivery

Flow sensor

Installed on the pump delivery, it checks the passage of the liquid: in the event of an anomaly the pump performs automatic re-priming and recovers the missed injections; if the anomaly persists, it is also signalled remotely. With an acquisition unit it records chemical consumption and transmits it via Modbus.

Flow sensor →
Flow-through probe holder

Probe holder and filter

Probe holder connected in by-pass to the circuit, with 5" filter with washable 60 µm PET cartridges or 100 µm wound cartridges (maximum 5 bar).

Probe holders →
Solenoid valve

Solenoid valves

Connected to the set-point-controlled relay output, they shut off the water inlet or outlet according to the measured value.

KMS MF multifunction dosing pump

External pumps

Additional pumps for dosing into further tanks or pipes, which can also be controlled by the 0-4/20 mA output.
