Dosing modes

Constant

The pump doses at a constant injection frequency, proportional to the flow rate percentage set with the analogue selector (0 – 100%).

Models: Velon CL

Constant (litres/hour)

The pump doses at a constant frequency, according to the flow rate set in litres/hour.

Models: Velon MF

External constant

When the run contact closes, the pump doses the set quantity of chemical.

Models: Velon MF

Modbus with level control

The pump is controlled via the Modbus RTU protocol: dosing management is handled entirely by your PLC.

Models: Velon PM

Pause / work

The pump runs the programmed cycle: during the WORK time it doses the set quantity of chemical; during the PAUSE time dosing is suspended.

Models: Velon MF

cc / pulse

For each pulse received from the pulse-output water meter the pump doses the set quantity, with a resolution starting from 0.0001 cc.

Models: Velon MF

Pulses

The pump doses in proportion to the pulses received from an external controller.

Models: Velon MF

PPM

Dosing is calculated from the pulses of the pulse-output water meter and the set PPM value; the concentration of the chemical and the volume per stroke can be programmed.

Models: Velon MF

Millilitres per quintal

Dosing is calculated from the pulses of the pulse-output water meter and the set MLQ value (millilitres per quintal).

Models: Velon MF

Percentage

Dosing is calculated from the pulses of the pulse-output water meter and the set percentage (%).

Models: Velon MF

Batch

A pulse from an external contact starts the dosing of the set quantity; pause and work cycles can be programmed.

Models: Velon MF

mA

The 0-4/20 mA current signal controls dosing proportionally, between the set minimum and maximum values.

Models: Velon MF

Volt

The 0-10 V voltage signal controls dosing proportionally, between the set minimum and maximum values.

Models: Velon MF

Proportional to pH

The required pH value (SET POINT) is set: the pump measures the pH by means of a pH electrode and progressively reduces the injection frequency as the set value approaches, stopping when the SET POINT is reached.

Models: Velon PO

Proportional to Redox

The required Redox potential (ORP) (SET POINT) is set: the pump measures it by means of a Redox electrode and progressively reduces the injection frequency as the set value approaches, stopping when the SET POINT is reached.

Models: Velon PO

Automatic pH dosing

Once the pool volume has been set, the pump automatically adjusts dosing according to the required pH (SET POINT), measured by means of a pH electrode: the injection frequency is progressively reduced as the set value approaches, until the pump stops when the SET POINT is reached.

Models: Velon PO

Automatic Redox dosing

Once the pool volume has been set, the pump automatically adjusts dosing according to the required Redox potential (ORP) (SET POINT), measured by means of a Redox electrode: the injection frequency is progressively reduced as the set value approaches, until the pump stops when the SET POINT is reached.

Models: Velon PO

Timer

Up to 16 weekly on/off timers can be programmed, during which the pump doses the set quantity of chemical.

Models: Velon MF

Technology

Stepper motor peristaltic technology

Peristaltic pumps deliver the product continuously; the electronically controlled stepper motor optimises dosing, which is continuous and free of pulsations. The flow rate is adjusted by frequency, by varying the number of revolutions per minute of the motor.

Turndown ratio of the stepper motor

Stepper motor

The stepper motor and the control software deliver the product optimally with completely silent operation, a feature appreciated when dosing aromatic essences in saunas and Turkish baths, or pH regulator and disinfectant in swimming pools and hot tubs.

TPV peristaltic tube and rotor of the Velon pumpTPV peristaltic tube and rotor of the Velon pump

TPV peristaltic tube

The tube is made of TPV, an elastomer compatible with most chemicals, which retains its elastic properties even after millions of compression cycles by the rollers. The Velon is also suitable for dosing products that release gas, such as hydrogen peroxide or peracetic acid.

Colour display

Colour-coded status indication

On the Velon MF and PO the display colour changes according to the operating status, so that an alarm can be recognised even from a distance.

Display Green

Green

Normal operation according to the set parameters, no active alarms.

Display Yellow

Yellow

Non-blocking alarm, for example waiting for an external signal.

Display Red

Red

Blocking alarm, for example the chemical in the tank running out.

Display White

White

Pump stopped by an external control signal (stand-by).

Remote control

Remote control and connectivity

The Velon MF and PO pumps support two-way remote control: from the cloud portal, via Wi-Fi, settings can be changed, operation can be checked and alarms can be received; alternatively, they can be integrated into a PLC via Modbus RTU and programmed via Bluetooth from a smartphone. The Velon PM can be controlled via Modbus RTU.

Remote control of the Velon pump via the cloud portal

Integrated Wi-Fi Standard (MF, PO)

Allows connection to the Nimbus cloud portal to change settings, check operation and receive alarms, such as the chemical running out.

Integrated Modbus RTU Standard (MF, PM, PO)

Integration into your PLC: all pump parameters can be managed from your control interface.

Bluetooth Standard (MF, PO)

Pump programming directly from a smartphone.

The NIMBUS portal

A single account brings together all registered installations, each with its own devices: the web portal, free of charge and with no subscription, can be accessed from PC, Mac, tablet and smartphone and allows every parameter to be both viewed and changed, with an encrypted connection and protected access.

The NIMBUS portal on monitor, laptop, tablet and smartphone

Overview

On a single screen: probe readings, chemical levels, pump activation thresholds and active alarms, with the status of installations and devices (normal, warning, alarm, standby, not connected).

Installation map

Installations appear on an interactive map with their status and open with a click; for each one, the local weather conditions and temperature are also shown.

History and charts

Archive of measurements and alarms, available for consultation at any time with charts and numerical reports exportable in Excel format.

Alarms and notifications

Alarm thresholds for readings, dosing, faulty probe and out-of-range readings, with notification by e-mail or SMS depending on the communication system; a warning is also issued when an installation remains disconnected beyond the set time.

Set points and dosing

Remote modification of the set points, of the dosing pump activation thresholds and of the corresponding hourly flow rate.

Inputs and outputs

Status of relays, pulse outputs, digital inputs and current outputs, with the name assigned to each connection.

Maintenance calendar

Tasks are scheduled by installation or by device and assigned to technicians; a reminder is sent by e-mail two days before the due date. Each task is shown as scheduled, due, overdue or completed.

Team and permissions

The main account has full access and creates the technicians’ accounts, each enabled only for the assigned installations and devices; the last login and activity of each technician are visible.

Reports and activity log

Reports on devices, tasks and technicians, downloadable in PDF or CSV with the customer’s logo; the log keeps the history of operations and disconnections.

Customisation

Logo, main colour and light or dark theme; the tiles on the main screen can be rearranged by dragging them. Two installations can be displayed side by side for comparison.

Guided registration

Each device is added through a guided procedure: the model is recognised automatically and associated with the installation, together with the technician to be contacted.

PLC integration

As an alternative to the portal, the Modbus RTU or TCP/IP port allows integration into the plant supervision system.

Tube replacement

Switch off and disconnect the pump, close the valves and drain the liquid. Open the cover, remove the rotor cover disc and take out the slide with the worn tube; insert the new slide and bring the tube into position by turning the roller holder. Check by hand that it rotates freely, reassemble and carry out a dry test. If the roller holder is removed, the letter “A” must face the operator.

Flow rate check

The TEST function runs the pump for the set time (1 – 60 minutes): measuring the chemical drawn in makes it possible to determine the actual flow rate under the installation conditions.

If the problem persists, contact us. Before sending the pump for servicing, empty the pump head of chemical and dry it.

Summary

Main features

Electronic flow rate adjustment
